The best beaches on the island are to the south east. On the Black Beach you will find restaurants, tavernas, beach bars, and organized stretches of beach with sun beds, umbrellas, and "sun bed side" service. Besides the Black Beach, one can also visit the Red and White beaches which are just south of Akrotiri.

If you prefer to stay close to Oia, you can combine a fantastic seafood taverna meal with a dip in the sea at Ammoudi Bay with its smooth rocks from where you can dive into the deep blue sea next to a tiny chapel on a rock, At the same time you will enjoy a stunning view of the villages which line the caldera cliffs above.
